The Hawaiian Island chain constitutes one of the world’s most important habitats for the North Pacific Humpback Whale and offers some of the best Whale watching in the world. Hawaii is the only place in the U.S. where Humpbacks breed, calve, and nurse their young. Scientists estimate that two-thirds of the entire North Pacific population (approximately 4,000-5,000 Whales) migrate to Hawaiian waters each winter, where boats like ours carefully navigate amongst them providing unrivaled Whale watching opportunities.
Adult Humpback Whales are 40′-45′ in length and weigh approx 2000 lbs per foot! They travel to Hawaii in the winter months to breed and give birth. Baby Humpback Whales weigh about 3 tons at birth but are born with no blubber, which is why they are born in the warm waters of Hawaii.
Our marine naturalist will provide information about the Whales and we will listen to their amazing songs with our underwater hydrophone.
